The post announced two roles but no details

On September 19, President Trump wrote on Truth Social that he is forming an AI Force. He compared it with the Space Force, which was created during his first term.

He also said he will soon name an AI czar, a senior official who would lead AI policy. He did not name a person. He also did not describe the duties of the czar or the AI Force.

The post promised that the government would not hinder or stifle the growth of the industry. It said wrongdoing would go through the normal criminal and civil courts.

NEW ROLES 08
Two announced roles still need a legal basis, a budget, a leader, and a task.

The AI Force and the AI czar were announced in a social media post. No order or appointment has followed yet.

The post also attacked critics of AI and data centres

The post listed the destruction of AI among several events that it called hoaxes created by Democrats. It also said an earlier campaign against data centres had failed. TechCrunch noted that the post gave no evidence for these claims.

The post said AI could reach as much as 25 percent of the US economy. It also said the United States is ahead of China. It gave no time frame or evidence for the 25 percent figure.

In a separate post that day, he asked followers to vote on a new name for AI. The options included Superior, Extreme, and Supreme Intelligence.

The White House did not answer questions from Nextgov about what the AI Force would do. It is not clear whether it would be a military branch, a government agency, or a task force.

Nextgov notes that Congress had to approve the Space Force through a defence law. It also quotes an expert who said the AI Force idea lacks substance. David Sacks, the previous AI and crypto czar, left that role in March.

The post came one day after California’s new AI order and just before US–China talks on AI and trade. For now, it is a statement of direction. Readers should watch for an executive order, a named czar, and a budget.
