GoTo releases a free AI model for Indonesian and Javanese
The 27-billion-parameter model also handles Sundanese, Balinese and Batak Toba. It is built on Google’s Gemma 3 with AI Singapore, and its weights are free under Google’s Gemma licence.
GoTo, the Indonesian group behind the Gojek and Tokopedia apps, released GoTo-AI-Gemma-3-27B-IT on October 19. The model works in Indonesian, English and four regional languages, and anyone can download it from Hugging Face. GoTo says it scored highest on every regional language in its own tests, but it has published no scores.
