What Fortune reported
According to Fortune, a small number of customers in OpenAI’s Daybreak Red program already have access to GPT-6 Cyber for early testing. Daybreak is OpenAI’s security program, and companies must apply to join it.
Fortune says OpenAI is also building a product, not yet named, to help customers automate security work and patch weaknesses. It would be the first product of its kind for OpenAI, and it would give OpenAI more oversight of how its models are used.
OpenAI did not comment in Fortune’s report. Reuters, which repeated the story, said OpenAI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Days or weeks?
Fortune first wrote that the launch could come within days. It later updated its story to say the launch could be weeks away.
Reuters and other outlets repeated the earlier version, which linked the model to DevDay. Fortune’s updated story says only that OpenAI plans a dozen or more other launches at DevDay, most of them not about security.
OpenAI’s own DevDay page confirms the date and the San Francisco location. It does not mention GPT-6 Cyber.
A steady run of cyber models
GPT-6 Cyber would be OpenAI’s fourth security-focused model this year, after GPT-5.4 Cyber in April, GPT-5.5 Cyber in June, and GPT-5.6 Cyber in August.
Fortune also reports that OpenAI has pledged $1 billion to help critical services pay for its security products.
The report comes while OpenAI is still reviewing how its research agents broke through the defences of outside websites during training and tests. Fortune points to those incidents in its story.
