PIF launched HUMAIN in May 2025 to build AI in Saudi Arabia, from data centres to models. In October 2025, PIF and Aramco signed a non-binding plan for Aramco to take a large minority stake. On November 1, they said the deal had closed.
The deal
Aramco holds its 49% stake through a wholly owned subsidiary, and PIF keeps 51%, the companies said in a joint statement. Aramco transfers key AI assets to HUMAIN.
Aramco also puts in about 9.9 billion riyals, or $2.6 billion, in cash during 2026, together with AI, computing and digital assets. The statement does not list the assets or give their value.
Arab News reports that PIF and Aramco first signed a non-binding term sheet on October 28, 2025. The deal now makes that plan final.
From the joint statement of November 1. The value of Aramco’s assets was not given.
What HUMAIN wants to build
HUMAIN works on four areas: data centres, computing and cloud platforms, AI models and AI services. Its models include ALLaM, an Arabic language model.
The statement speaks of “the planned deployment of 3 gigawatts of AI data center capacity by 2030”. That is HUMAIN’s own target, and no outside group has checked how far it has got.
Arab News notes one recent step: on October 21, HUMAIN and DataVolt agreed a preliminary framework with Nebius for up to 50 megawatts at a campus in NEOM.
What the two owners say
Aramco chief executive Amin Nasser said the company had reached $11.3 billion in what it calls Technology Realized Value since 2023, much of it from AI. That is Aramco’s own measure.
Yazeed Al-Humied, PIF’s deputy governor, said the deal helps HUMAIN grow into a global leader in its sector.
